Bangalore is now Bengaluru!
November 1st, 2006Today 1st November is a formation day for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala (States of India).
On this day, Karnataka government has decided to change names of 12 cities/towns of this state. So, now Silicon-Valley of India is not ‘Bangalore’ but it is ‘Bengaluru’!
So, this is a good news for business card printing press, as they will get lots of orders from all the IT companies of old Bangalore!
Other new names are:
Bangalore - Bengaluru
Mangalore - Mangaluru
Mysore - Mysoru
Belgaum - Belgavi
Gulbarg - Kalaburgi
Hospet - Hosapete
Shimoga - Shivamogga
Hubli - Hubballi
Tumkur - Tumakuru
Chikmangalur - Chikmangaluru
Bellary - Ballary
