ISRO launches PSLV-C7 successfully
Today the 44.5 meter tall 295 tone PSLV-C7 lifted off from the Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh launch pad at 9.24 am.
The PSLV-C7 is carrying the 680 kg Indian remote sensing satellite CARTOSAT-2 which is a next satellite of CARTOSAT series. CARTOSAT-1 was launched on 5th May 2005.
CARTOSAT-1 was having ground resolution of <2.5 meter while CARTOSAT-2 has <1.0 meter. Another feature of the CARTOSAT-1 was to generate Digital Elevation Models (DEM) through which one can calculate height information of a given point on earth.

Today 1st November is a formation day for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala (States of India).
On this day, Karnataka government has decided to change names of 12 cities/towns of this state. So, now Silicon-Valley of India is not ‘Bangalore’ but it is ‘Bengaluru’!
So, this is a good news for business card printing press, as they will get lots of orders from all the IT companies of old Bangalore!

Many of us might not be aware of this but from 26th Oct, 2006 Domestic Violence Act for women has come into effect. We criticize our government for Reservation quota and send many emails but we ignore some good things done by them.
Now we have proper laws which protect women against physical, emotional, verbal and economic violence. Not only relations like wife, mother and sister are covered but live-in partners are also covered under the same. Good to see, Indian mentality is opening…
So, guys think twice before asking for money from your girl friend/wife! They can sue you under economic violence if they are not in a good mood!
